Drop Off Policy
Please do not drop off forgotten items or food for your students.
“Fight the temptation to bring your child’s forgotten homework to school. Kids gain resilience by learning from small failures.”

Challenge Success - Stanford School of Education
If your child forgets items for school, this an ideal opportunity to allow your student space to develop on their own and make mistakes.
Office staff can not interrupt classroom instruction regarding forgotten items or food. We also do not have the capacity to hold items or food for students to pick up.
Emergencies
The office staff is happy to help if a student needs a required medication or has a health condition that requires specific food or support.
Forgotten Items
It is each student's responsibility to bring to school their classroom supplies, homework, P.E. clothes, lunch or other items. It is important for students to learn to handle this responsibility. It is NOT the job of the parents or school staff to do ti for them.
If your child forgets items that the or she was supposed to bring to school, we encourage you to let them learn from this experience. If they have to deal with the consequences themselves they will have a strong incentive to take more responsibility for bringing wha they need next time.
The office staff will NOT interrupt classroom instruction to to notify your child, call your child's classroom, or deliver a note or summons to your child. Furthermore, students will not be able to pick-up items left for them. Please do not drop off any forgotten items for students. This policy limits disruptions of class instruction and facilitates a full instructional program for all students. We appreciate you cooperation in making sure all students' school days are without interruption.
Emergencies
It is not normally considered to be an emergency if a student misses an assignment or PE because of forgetting an item at home. These are learning experience that can affect almost any student from time to time.
True emergencies are an exception to the policy explained above. The office staff will be happy to help if a student needs to received forgotten medicine before the school day is over, if they have a diagnosed health condition that requires eating specific food or if there is another emergency that affect the health or safety of a student. In such cases please go to the office and explain the situation.
